VibCloud setup and testing guide for Cassia X2000
iTnnovate DOOEL | Version 1.0 | July 2026
Overview
This guide walks you through setting up a Cassia X2000 Bluetooth gateway with the VibCloud application from scratch. By the end you will have a fully operational gateway collecting vibration data from BluVib sensors and sending it to the VibCloud cloud platform.
Estimated time: 20–30 minutes.
Who this guide is for: Technical staff at Sensor-Works or the client site performing the initial deployment and testing.
What you will need
Item | Detail |
|---|---|
Cassia X2000 gateway | Hardware unit to be configured |
Power adapter | Not supplied with the gateway |
Ethernet cable | To connect the gateway to your network |
Network router / switch | With an available Ethernet port and internet access |
Computer | Any laptop or desktop on the same network; a modern web browser |
VibCloud app file | Provided by iTnnovate |
VibCloud credentials | Provided separately by iTnnovate (see Section 5) |
Note on sensors: Please make sure the BluVib sensors are pre-registered to your account on the VibCloud platform. Contact iTnnovate if you need assiatnce, full guide on how to configure online BluVib sensors is available at Setup VibCloud online for BluVib
Section 1 - Connect the gateway
Connect the Cassia X2000 to your router or switch using the Ethernet cable or WiFi.
Connect the power adapter and switch the unit on.
Wait approximately 60 seconds for the gateway to boot fully. The status LED will settle to a steady colour when ready.
Section 2 - Access the gateway management UI
The gateway has a built-in web management interface accessible from any browser on the same network. Follow the quick start guide Cassia provides.
2.1 - Find the Gateway's IP Address
Log into your router's admin panel and look for a device named Cassia-X2000 (or similar) in the connected device list. Note its IP address - for example 192.168.1.100.
Alternatively, if your network supports mDNS, try
http://cassia-X2000.local/directly in your browser.
2.2 - Open the Management UI
Open a web browser and navigate to:
http://<gateway-IP>/
For example: http://192.168.1.100/
Log in with the gateway credentials:

Section 4 - Install the VibCloud application
The VibCloud application runs inside the gateway's built-in Linux container. You install it by uploading the app package through the management UI.
In the management UI, navigate to the Container tab (sometimes under Advanced or Apps).
Find the Install App or Select File button.
Click it and browse to the
vibcloud.0.8.tar.gzfile you received from iTnnovate.Click Install (or Upload and Install).
The gateway will upload and extract the package. This takes approximately 30–60 seconds.
When installation is complete, the app status will show as Running or Active.

Section 5 - Configure VibCloud
Once the app is installed, you need to enter the VibCloud credentials so the gateway knows where to send data.
In the Container tab, locate the Config section for the installed app. It will list the fields below.
Enter the values provided by iTnnovate:
Field | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
|
| URL of the VibCloud cloud API |
|
| Your API authentication key |
|
| Your assigned client identifier |
|
| Leave as default - do not change |
|
| Leave as default - do not change |
|
| Maximum simultaneous sensors (update if you have more) |
Click Apply or Save.

After saving, the gateway will:
Connect to the VibCloud platform to verify credentials
Begin scanning for registered BluVib sensors
Start collecting and uploading data automatically
This process takes approximately 1–2 minutes after saving.
Section 6 - Verify data collection
6.1 - Check the app is running
Return to the Container tab and confirm the VibCloud app status shows Running.

6.2 - Confirm data appears in the VibCloud Dashboard
Open your VibCloud cloud dashboard in a browser (URL provided by iTnnovate).
Log in with your account credentials.
Navigate to the Dashboard section.
Your registered BluVib sensors should appear, and readings should begin arriving within 15-30 minutes of the first sensor waking up.
VibCloud dashboard showing sensor list with active statusNote on sensor timing: BluVib sensors in wakeup mode transmit on a schedule (typically every 10–60 minutes depending on configuration). If no readings appear immediately, this is expected - wait for the next sensor wakeup cycle.
Section 7 - Sensor placement and power
Before leaving the installation running:
Place BluVib sensors on the machinery to be monitored, following the mounting guidance provided with the sensors.
Ensure sensors are powered on (LED will flash briefly on first power-up).
Sensors connect to the gateway automatically - no pairing or manual intervention is required.
Troubleshooting
App shows "Stopped" or does not appear in the Container tab
Ensure the
vibcloud.0.8.tar.gzfile was not corrupted during transfer - request a fresh copy from iTnnovate if needed.Try re-installing: remove the existing app in the Container tab, then repeat Section 4.
Config fields keep resetting / not saving
After entering all fields, wait for the confirmation message before navigating away.
If the issue persists, try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended).
No sensor readings in the VibCloud dashboard after 30 minutes
Confirm the sensors are powered on and within approximately 10 metres of the gateway.
Confirm the
VibCloudApiUrl,VibCloudApiKey, andVibCloudClientIdvalues match exactly what was provided - even a single character difference will prevent upload.Contact iTnnovate with the gateway's serial number and the approximate time testing started.
Gateway not reachable at its IP address
Confirm the ethernet cable is firmly connected at both ends.
Try power-cycling the gateway (unplug power, wait 10 seconds, reconnect).
Confirm your computer is on the same network segment as the gateway.
Appendix - Production Deployment Note
This guide covers the direct gateway setup, which is suitable for initial testing. In a production deployment across multiple sites, the gateway should be managed through the Cassia Access Controller (AC) - a cloud-hosted management layer that provides:
Remote app installation and updates across all gateways
Gateway health and connectivity monitoring from a single dashboard
Remote terminal access for diagnostics (without physical access to the site)
The AC is lightweight Docker-based software that can run on any Linux server with a public IP address. There are two options for hosting it:
Self-hosted: The client installs and runs the AC on their own server or cloud infrastructure. iTnnovate can provide the setup documentation and the software.
Hosted by iTnnovate: iTnnovate can provision and manage an AC instance on behalf of the client. This is available as an optional managed service - please contact us to discuss requirements and pricing.
In either case, once the AC is running, the gateway registers with it automatically over the internet and no further on-site access is needed for ongoing management.
